March 14th @ 9:00pm @ Sterling Lanes on Schoenherr N. of 14 Mile at the Sterling Lanes.  This is for the Gearhart and Karasinski families that have been devasted by the sudden tragic loss of 3 out of 4 people killed in a boat crash on the St. Clair River in October.  Gearhart's left behind two children and a severly injured widowed wife is trying to put life back together with two children.  Article can be found at: www.macombdaily.com/articles/2008/12/28/news/srv0000004368677.prt

I have flyer info, business/personal lane sponsorship info & prize donation info.  We could use help in all areas.  We are doing two types of raffles w/regards to prizes.  I'm in need of gift baskets filled w/products, general gifts & gift certificates of all types.  We also need bowlers and lane sponsorships.  All monies raised will be split between the two families for an educational trust fund for the Gearhart family and a memorial fund for the Karasinski family.  Any and all help will be so deeply appreciated.

I would be happy to offer my assistance to you in your fundraising efforts. Having a silent auction at these type of events is a great way to raise money. My company assisted in 117 fundraising events in 2008, and 14 of those were bowl - a - thons.

There is no cost to you for us to provide the items, and come and manage the silent auction. We will hand you a check for the monies raised at the end of the night.

Please contact me to further discuss how we can help you, and the two families.

Lori, I have done a few bowling fundraisers in the past raising funds for the Boy's & Girl's Clubs of Southeastern Michigan from $800. to $6,000. Each time I used Brian King from Sports Authentics and have for all the other fundraisers and events as well.

Also, I would make a Facebook Group Page for this and create an event - Great exposure and an instant way to get your message out there. I will help you get the word out through that as well.

Another way to get the word out and get some exposure is make sure to have flyers out at the bowling alley for the event in March NOW and sell tickets, sponsorships, etc

Anything else needed - please let me know - Keith Stonehouse

Hi Keith.  Thank you so very much for your thoughts and your assistance to spread the word.  We do have a small group trying to sell lane sponsorships, get bowlers and get prizes for our raffle.  Our goal is to get 300 bowlers, 50 lane sponsorships and a ton of gift certificates/gift baskets/gifts for our all-night raffle.  Your efforts are very much appreciated!  Lori

Hi Brian.  Thank you for your idea.  I would like more information on that to see if this is a fit for what we want to do.  I will contact you soon (hopefully Friday--1/23) so we can discuss this.  If you have information you can send me for my review, I would appreciate that.  I'll be talking to you.  Thanks again, Lori.

Lori.

You are welcome. I will send you an information packet today, and I look forward to further conversation with you on Friday.

Lori,

I would love to attend the fundraiser!  We had a bowling fundraiser for my cousin and it was a great event.

I don't have enough money to sponsor a lane and since I am an insurance agent, I don't really have any prizes to donate. But, I would love to bring my bowling buddies.  We go bowling a lot and we might as well help your cause while we are at it. Laughing

How much is the donation to bowl?

Hi Raechel,

Thank you for contacting me and I appreciate your interest in supporting by bowling.  If want to provide me with a good email to contact you, I will send you the flyer and bowling form info.  However, you will need to move quick as we have about 6-7 lanes open.

The cost is $25 per person and this covers:  3 games of bowling, pizza, beverages, variety of home made catered desserts, DJ entertainment for the night & cash bar. The activities you can participate in are:  Sports Memorabilia Silent Auction, Tier 1 prize raffle (10 top prizes), Tier 2 raffle ( approx. 75-90 prizes raffled all night long) and bowling game prizes.  It should be a lot of fun.  So let me know if you would like the information and where to send.

Thank you, Lori
