Suggestions for Engineer interested in moving to Software Development
I'm a Mechanical Engineer with a BS and MS in ME. I've worked at Ford for 6 years using engineering softwares such as HyperMesh, ABAQUS, NASTRAN, and MATLAB
One of the parts of my job I like the best is the programming, and Im considering a plan to make a career chance to databasing, software developing, or networking.
Do you have suggestions for what course of action a person of my education could take to develop her skills to such an end?

18 credit software development certificate at Schoolcraft College
Master's Program in Computer Programming
Gaining employment through engineering background in a Software company and making use of internal networking to make the transition
