Finding Investors for business financing?

Hi-
I am pursuing purchasing a business, and I'm investigating my options for financing it. I'm working on the bank & credit union loans angle, but wondering if anyone has good or bad experiences with angel investors they'd care to share. I'm mainly interested in folks who have experience with angel investors who are not family or friends (I think I've tapped them out). How did you find them in the first place? How was experience? Are there other options you'd recommend instead of angel investors?

The first step is to do exactly what you are doing - putting it out there to see who your network knows! The other is to attend all of the networking opportunities you can. I have seen Angel Investors at First Fridays at Tech Town (Google them - they meet the first Friday of every month).
