A contact of mine has found that his 501(c)3 recognition paperwork (Form 1023) is caught up "in process" with the IRS.
Does anyone have a contact into the IRS Exemption Determination department that he could call?

Do you want a specific name? Usually the 1023 application is assigned to one person within the IRS. A preliminary letter is sent to the applicant with contact information of the agent reviewing his or her 1023.
If this letter never came, please have your friend call me and I can try to help (i seem to talk to the IRS more and more these days)
