Returning to wired days??? Give up Cell, laptop, PDA for a day?
I just read a piece about a MSU professor who is requesting that we all abandon our wireless gadgets (cell phones, pda's, laptops, you get the idea) on March 10. That's next Monday!
How many of us could go throughout the day without being virtually connected everywhere we go? Truth is, I don't even have a land line. The only way for me to make "wired" phone calls would be to have my cell phone plugged into the wall ;-)
As I am in between laptops, I don't carry one every where I go, but I know several of you do. How would you like to go to a meeting without your MAC or pc? Can you just imagine?
What would life be like without your digital organizer? I shutter to think.
But this young lady makes a great point. Many people are far too connected and instead of this making life easier, it makes it more stressful for some. I know I shouldn't be checking e-mail at the dinner table, but I'm an addict ;-)
I read the article in my morning edition of the Great Lake IT Report. Here is a link to the Professor's website: http://ellenkossek.lir.msu.edu/.
I don't know about you, but I don't envision "plugging back in" or is it "uplugging"?? Next week. You know what I mean. Wireless baby! It's the only way to move and or shake!
