Need Internet Marketing Help
Hey MCCrs -
I received a quote from a company that wants to market my business service on the web, based on specific geographic information.
I nearly spilled my coffee and coughed up my bagel when I saw the proposed costs.
The company is based in Florida, so I've never actually met with the owner, but I've talked with her a few times on the phone.
I would like to do some comparison shopping to see if her prices are in the ballpark or if I'm being had. She guarantees results. But, cost is a big thing for me right now.
So, my ask is this:
Can anybody recommend an SEO/Internet marketing person or company in the Detroit area that is honest, won't charge me an arm and a leg and can deliver?
I know I haven't provided the details of what this other company proposed, but I'm sure their services aren't at all unique. I will share the details with you if you would like to know.

Anyone "guaranteeing" results is not being truthful in SEO... just ask Google.
Some of my compatriots on this forum may disagree - but I don't believe in engineered solutions, I believe in creating great content and providing a great, relevant value proposition.
If you're worth it, people will link to you; if you're an engineered solution with link farms and paid links and other gray or black hat (i.e. not by the rules), Google will eventually figure that out. And when they figure out you're gaming the system, they'll blacklist you. Then you're invisible.
All of the pieces of your online presence need to be excellent for internet marketing to work to it's fullest potential, and work together; as well as you need to be aware who your target market is and what's the most important value proposition for them.
After all, there are a lot of data backup solutions out there; why you.. and here's the kicker... no one wants to hear about you, the conversation needs to be framed to be about them.

Several MCCers have attended Social Media Bootcamp, there are 2 classes in August and 2 in September. She can teach you how to pull up rank and get your business noticed. Apologise for the detailed post. But its a MUST read so that everyone gets an idea / basic picture about SEO- Search Engine optimization
Facts / info that will help you about IM.
-"data recovery", I am positive you can achieve fairly easy compared to real estate or web design domain for example.
- the way your web site is built & when it was built,
- the way content is written
- to even as simple as selecting the domain name
- and then come the rest of the strategies (Payed Ads, Linking, PPC, PFI etc ...) what else and what not.
Bottom line your site content need to be worth while, don't expect things to happen out of thin air. The site need to be good then SEO comes into picture.
DotSign typically does not do Internet marketing alone as a just that ONE service because of the fact that there are a lot of back ground work to be done (building the site, key word optimized content etc) before. If not I would have been the first to help you out. (I would be lying if I say I can do it out of nothing just pay me big bucks

Challenge: DotSign had to do SEO for a very simple basic site for Detroit area relates Salsa and Latin dance
Competitors: There were 3 major sites and whole bunch of directory like sites. All of the competitor sites were at least 4 years old/ahead of this new site (can check the competitors sites in "Who is" for data on when they were started)
DotSign's Success: You can go to Google, MSN, Yahoo any major search engine and type any thing related to "Detroit Salsa, Latin Dance , salsa / Latin music, Salsa Clubs in Detroit, Latin dance events " well literally Whatever word you can think off if you were to search for Latin/ salsa dancing in Detroit, in real life.
The best part we achieved this in 6 months (now I cant say I can do this to all sites within 6 months)
I can promise you will see www.detroitsalsadance.com in the top 5. Worst case - somewhere in the first page !!
