My New Contact Info

Hey there MCC land,

You may have noticed (or heard about) my contact info changing in the past few weeks.  I want to make sure I let my Network know what I am up to. Sorry if you are seeing this twice, but here it is.

Just a little life insurance history for you - the traditional options for policyholders with an unneeded, unwanted, or unaffordable life insurance policy include allowing the policy to lapse (the policy owner gets nothing), surrendering the policy to the original insurer (the policy holder gets the cash surrender value), or exercising a non-forfeiture provision (the amount to continue the insurance benefit is dependent upon the cash value of the policy).

This sale of an existing life insurance policy to a third party in exchange for a lump sum cash payment is a called a life settlement.
