I love the FLY TRAP in Ferndale.

I would say, the best breakfast in the metro area.

Redcoat tavern 13 and woodward in birmingham - i know owners through friends - most unique resturaunt interior i have ever scene (lighting) great food and draws a crowd of all ages from 11 am - 2 am the place is buzzing. if reproduced anywhere else it may not survive.
Bd's Mongolian BBQ - I have known the owner for 15 years and grew up across the street from him. uniquely detroit but now a large chain and recently sold.
