I found out I am allergic to cats and have 3 of them. I am very sad to say my babies need a loving home. So please open your heart and give these guys a chance! Chelsey, Chaz and Bailey. Chelsey Female and Chaz Male are 9 years old Bailey Male is 4 years old, They are extremely loving and greet anyone that comes in the door.

All 3 cats come when you call them, sit when you tell them too. They all love to play fetch and are very affectionate & love attention they also love to cuddle. Chelsey is white with black markings with big green eyes, she speaks when you ask her to, loves to play soccer with her toy balls and can open treat packs with her feet. Chaz is slightly over weight with a heart of gold, and soft like a bunny. Bailey is solid black with bright yellow eyes. He talks to you when you ask him a question and loves to play chase with a flash light.

All have been spayed or neutered, They have their claws (i don't believe in declawing) and have no problem using their scratching post. They are strictly indoors cats. They love children, and are very gentle cats they would never bite or scratch. They've been around dogs and love to play chase. They always use the litter box and do not spray.

They come with a covered litter box, scratching post, toys, food dishes, travel crate, and bag of food.

If you would like to come meet them please e-mail me at Missyeh@yahoo.com or call  586-634-5277  and ask for Melissa.

Thank you for taken the time to read this and the consideration to open your home.

I feel so bad for you. I am a dog owner and it would never work in my home but I will sure get the word out. There are so many cat lovers out there I hope you find them a home. Try placing an add in your local, community or church paper.

Good luck! Justina

Ugh!  I'm almost as heart broken as you are because I love all animals especially dogs and cats.  My house is so frickin small or I'd taken em in a heart beat.  I can't say a word to my mom cuz she already has three, is allergic and would still take on your 3 haha.  I will pass this along to my women's group site.  Do they need to stay together?  I'm sure it would be nice, but....just wondered.  Please keep me posted about them though because even though I can't take them I will be thinking about them.

I have a friend who found a solution to her cat allergies.  There are special drops an owner can give to their cats to help keep their allergen producing dander to a minimum.  They are called ACE, and you can get them from certain vets. One of the techs said all vets don't beleive in them but when they work they work.  The bottle of drops lasts about 4 months at the rate of 3 drops on the cats' wet food. Price is about $6.00 a bottle.

Good luck!

PS - My friend's vet is Exclusively Cats (Waterford) on M59 across from The Shark Club and next to the airport.

Melissa - I've heard about those drops Elizabeth mentioned, and if they don't work, please let me know (PM me or call me) - I think I could take one, but not all 3. BUT - I think my sister-in-law and brother-in-law might be interested as well. They had a cat a while ago, and she was so sweet, but she got on the bad side of a neighborhood bully cat, and came out worse for wear about 7 years ago - and they had to have her put down. It was a sad day because EVERYONE loved her.

Elizabeth those drops sound great!  I'm going to suggest them to my mom too.  Do you happen to know the name of the vet that your friend uses so I don't have to call a million different ones?

Thanks,

Bridget

Thank you gals so much for the support and info.  I am going to do some research on the drops.  The drops are called acepromazine (I asked my vet).  I really appreciate your thoughts and your kind words.  I am having a hard time with this and it makes me feel better when others reach out.

Thanks again,

Melissa

Melissa -

My heart goes out to you and your family (for your cats are your children, yes?)  I could no more want to give up my cat and my dog than I could give up my son or my daughter.  How is it going?  Have you gotten the drops?  Are you able to keep them?  Let us know.  I know we're all rooting for drops and family.  Good luck!

www.craigslist.com is the way to go! I just found the BEST family in the world for my dog in days!

Also, there are many ways to manage your allergies. My allergist told me to find new homes for my cats and I refused. Instead, here's what I did and it worked.

1. used the drops mentioned above

2. NO CARPETING OR DRAPES. This is very important.

3. No cats in the bedroom

4. Slipcovers on upholstered furniture WASHED WEEKLY

I went from having to use an inhaler to only minor problems. Good luck.
